Getting started is easy! With a few simple decisions and clicks of your mouse, your learners will receive notifications of what they need to do and when...and you'll have a single source for seeing if they completed the work...and how well they did. It's as simple as 1, 2, 3:
1. What material would you like to assign?
2. Who would you like to do the work?
3. When and how would you like it completed?
See below for an in depth walk through on setting up Assignments within your Challenger account. Challenger Assignments is incredibly robust and offers a myriad of options. Our team of experienced professionals have quite a bit of experience in this area. It would be our pleasure to offer you a live consultation and training to help you implement Challenger Assignments in your program.
To begin, select either Assignment Activity or Assignment Manager from your top menu. On either of these screens, click on Create Assignment in the upper right corner. | |
Create Assignment will open in a pop up window which contains several tabs. The first is Select Assessments/Exams. Here you'll identify the material you wish to assign. You can assign anything ranging from a single topic to the entire course. If you've created custom exams, you can assign those as well. All material below the level you choose will be assigned. For instance, if you assign an entire chapter, all the the topics contained in that chapter will be assigned. |
Along the top of the Create Assignments window, you'll make your decisions about due dates and passing scores. Challenger Assignments affords you a great many opportunities for customization. We default the Assignment Effective Date to the day on which you're setting up the Assignment and the Assignment Due Date to 30 days after the Effective Date. We use 80% as our default Passing Score. Some programs like to work in batches, assigning work one month at a time - in that case, the defaults are a great fit. Some programs like to enter an academic year's worth of work all at once. Because each Topic can have it's own Effective Date, Due Date, and Passing Score, you can lay out the entire academic year in one setting. |
Next you'll Select Assignees. You can assign work to your entire program, to everyone within a cohort, or to individual learners. |
After choosing Assessments and Assignees, you can simply click Save Assignments in the bottom right corner. Or you can take advantage of some of our other features. While you must choose course content and learners, everything on the Advanced Options tab is completely optional. The Advanced Options tab has two areas. The top portion allows you to set a time limit for the work and/or to limit the number of attempts available to a learner. Whether or not you wish to choose either is based on your program's objectives for the particular assignment. It's worth noting that, while you can vary start dates, due dates, and passing scores across topics, any selections made on the Advanced Options tab apply to all assignments in a batch. |
The bottom portion of the screen allows you to set Viewability. As with the previously mentioned defaults, the defaults we've established in this area are based on those most preferred by out clients. In each case, you can choose any of the available options. As with time limits and number of attempts, your selections here will apple to all Assignments in this batch. |
|
After making and saving your selections, you'll have an opportunity to to review a summary of your Assignments. If everything looks good, click Yes, Make the Assignment. |
Once you've made the Assignment(s), you'll see them on both the Assignments Manager and Assignments Activity screens. Additionally, as soon as your Assignments are effective, then a notification email will be issued to the Assignees. Assignees who have not completed their work will receive a reminder email 48 hours before the due date. |
